"EXP Potions, Rename Cards & Arena Pet Level Fix"
Ether Online — Patch Notes
New — 20% EXP Potion
You voted for it and it won the poll, so it's going in. A 20% EXP boost potion is now available in the cash shop in two variants.
20% EXP Potion (1 Hour) — boosts EXP gain by 20% for 1 hour
20% EXP Potion (3 Hours) — boosts EXP gain by 20% for 3 hours
Use the potion from your bag to activate the boost
Thanks to everyone who voted.
New — Pioh Sealing Stone
A new cash shop item lets you turn a Pioh back into its egg.
Use the card from your bag, pick a Pioh, and confirm.
Costs 100 Ether stone to seal.
You get back an egg of that same Pioh, ready to incubate again.
The Pioh is reduced to Lv.1 as it is sealed — its level, growth and learned skills are destroyed and cannot be recovered.
The egg still has to be hatched again, at the usual Ether stone and time cost.
Nothing is spent and nothing is lost until you confirm.
The list shows every Pioh you own — pet bag, inventory and warehouse — with its level and where it is stored.
Hover any Pioh in the list to see its stats and skills before you decide.
The Pioh must be unequipped, and you need a free bag slot for the egg.
Cannot be used while trading, or in a PvP or War zone.
New — Rename Cards
Two new cash shop items let you change your character or guild name.
Character Rename Card — change your character's name.
Guild Rename Card — change your guild's name, guild master only.
Use the card from your bag, type the new name, and confirm.
The card is only spent if the rename succeeds — if the name is taken, you keep it.
Your new name updates right away for friends, guild, party, auction listings and the Leader Board.
Names must be free and follow the same rules as creating a character.
Names are not case-sensitive — if Hero exists, hero counts as taken.
Changing only the capitalisation of your own name is allowed, and counts as a rename.
A character can be renamed once every 30 days, a guild once every 7 days.
You cannot rename while dead, trading, loading, or in a PvP arena or battleground.
Names from disbanded guilds are released and can be taken again.
Renaming a guild keeps its level, war history and ranking.
Bug Fixes
Fixed the "ILERROR!" box that could interrupt the loading screen partway through entering a map. The game now loads through it normally.
Fixed the "ILERROR!" box that could appear when returning to Character Select. This one was worse than it looked — pressing Ignore could crash the client outright, and Abort closed the game. Both are gone.
Fixed a rare crash while loading map terrain.
Seen an Error Box?
These came from the game occasionally failing to read a file out of its own data archives. We've stopped it from throwing you out of the game, but we're still hunting the cause.
If you get any error box, it would help a lot if you could:
Screenshot it
Post both in #bug-reports
That file records exactly what the game tried to open and why it failed — it's the fastest way for us to close this out. Thanks!
Server Update — Arena Pet Level Fix
Fixed: pets kept the arena's balanced level after the match
When you enter a ranked arena match, everyone is temporarily balanced to the highest level in the room. That balancing also applies to your equipped Piohs, so your pet is raised to match the highest pet of the same slot in that match.
This is intended — it's what keeps arena fights fair. What was not intended: in some cases the raised level was saved to your character permanently instead of being reverted when the match ended. The result was a pet sitting several levels above its owner, which is not something that can happen through normal play.
What's Fixed
The temporary arena level can no longer be written to your account, on any save path.
The revert now finds your pet even if you swapped it, unequipped it, or moved it to your pet bag during the match — the old revert only checked the equip slots.
Any leftover boost is now cleared when you log out, so it can never carry over.
Affected Pets
We found 7 pets across the whole server (out of 3,259) that were left inflated. These are being corrected back to a proper level. Any EXP your pet earned after the issue is kept — it is carried over, not deleted.
If your pet's level changes after this update, this is why. Nothing else about your pet is affected: its stats, favor, skills, growth and evolution are untouched.
Please make sure you are logged out during the maintenance window so the correction applies cleanly.
Thanks to everyone who reported this — it was spotted and confirmed from a player report, and that's exactly how it got found.
Server Update — Skills
Follow-up to the earlier skill fixes.
Skill levels can no longer drop below the level you paid for. The earlier fix closed one cause of this. We have since found two more — a skill a Pioh was standing in for, and levelling up while a skill was in that state — and have closed them all at a single point, so any cause we have not seen yet is covered as well.
Every character on the server was checked for skill points that had been charged for levels which no longer exist, and those points have been restored. If this happened to you, you do not need to report it. The points are already back on your character.
If a skill still shows a lower level than you remember, or your skill points still look short, post your character name and we will check it directly.
Update Info
The EXP Potions, Pioh Sealing Stone, Rename Cards and bug fixes are a client update — relaunch through the launcher to get the latest patch. The arena pet level fix and skill fixes are server-side and need no client update.
