Progression

How Advancement Works

You never branch or re-pick — the whole chain is locked in when you choose your base class. Here's the path every class follows.

The elite 3rd-tier skills

The one real “job change” is at level 10 — the same chain for every class (there's no choice; your 2nd job is the next link in your path). The separate 2nd→3rd promotion isn't wired to a quest yet in this build, but the 3rd-job classes, models and skills are all present — its unlock is coming.

The 2nd-job change — quest by quest

At level 10 it's the same three-quest chain for every class, run in Asgard between Heimdall and Murad. (It's mislabelled “[Old Quest]/[Ex quest]” in-game, but it's the real advancement quest.) Your Awakening forms come later, from the [Awakening] quest line.

Completing step 3 advances you to your 2nd job — your name, icon, and model update, and the new skill tier opens (Lv 10 / 20 / 30).

Who can heal? There's no pure Priest or Cleric in Ether. Every class learns a self-recovery skill, but only the Soul Summoner → Soulbringer can heal and buff other players — an ally heal (Bowl of Soul) plus party buffs. To support a group, roll a Soulbringer; every other class contributes through damage, tanking, or a summon. (No class has a working class-skill resurrection — revival comes from items.)

Each base class follows a fixed linear chain. Advancement adds the new tier's skills on top of everything you've already learned — it never removes the lower tier's.

The tankiest job in the game — the highest Vitality growth of any class (1.61/level), backed by strong Strength. Built to soak punishment, hold aggro, and protect allies with sword and shield rather than top the damage charts. Wears the heaviest Plate armor.

The agile melee assassin — Dexterity-focused (1.61 DEX growth) with strong Strength: fast, evasive, and crit-driven, trading durability for high single-target burst. The fastest-moving line in the game; the Assassin reaches the single highest run speed of any job. Light Leather armor.

Ranged precision from safety — Dexterity-focused like the Thief, but with the game's strongest CON/LUK growth (1.13 each) among the physical classes: high accuracy, critical rate, and steady bow damage from a distance. The other fast-moving line, just under the Assassin. Light Leather armor.

The elemental glass cannon — Intelligence-focused (1.61 INT growth) with high CON/LUK but the lowest Vitality of any class. Devastating ranged fire / ice / lightning magic at the cost of fragility. Uses MP and a Mana Shield rather than stamina; wears flimsy Cloth.

The spirit / summon caster — the line the game is named after (its 2nd job, Soulbringer, is the client's own codename). The only class whose top growth is CON and LUK (1.61 each, the highest in the game), alongside strong INT: built around summoned soul allies, luck, sustain, and utility over raw burst. As the Soulbringer it becomes the game's only true support — the one job that can heal and buff other players (an ally heal plus party buffs), where every other class can only heal itself. Pairs with the soul-card (pioh) system. Uses MP; wears Cloth.
