"Hair Dye Preview, Storage Fix & Client Stability"
Ether Online — Patch Notes
New — Hair Color Preview in the Item Mall
See the shade before you spend it. Every Hair Dye in the Item Mall — all 132 of them, under Appearance → Hair Color — now has a Preview button, the same one costumes have always had.
What's New
Hit Preview on any dye and your character in the Costume Preview panel is recoloured on the spot. No more buying a shade off a tiny icon and hoping.
It stacks with costume preview. Drop a hair costume and a dye onto the preview to see exactly how that combination lands before either one leaves your wallet.
The dye gets its own slot in the preview list on the right — click its icon to take it back off. Its price is counted in the preview total and it comes along with Add All to Cart.
Drag to spin, drag up and down to tilt, scroll to zoom. Unchanged, and it all works while a dye is on.
Also Fixed
Head costumes (hats and headwear) added to the Item Mall preview were losing their slot icon and were being left out of the preview price total. Both behave now.
Heads Up
A Hair Dye is applied to a hair costume, so you'll need one to put a dye to use. The preview shows the colour on whatever hairstyle your character is wearing at the time.
Storage Fix
Fixed: items stuck in Personal Archive / Shared Storage
Some of you had items sitting in greyed-out storage slots that simply could not be taken back out — clicking or dragging them did nothing, with no error message at all.
What Was Wrong
Locked storage slots were covered by an overlay that also swallowed your mouse clicks. If an item ever ended up in one of those slots, it was drawn greyed out and became impossible to pick up — even though the server was perfectly happy to hand it over.
What Changed
A locked slot that still contains an item is no longer greyed out — you can take the item out normally.
Once you remove it, the slot locks again, so locked slots still cannot be filled and your unlocked slot count is unchanged.
Same fix applied to Shared Storage.
Trying to deposit into an expired Shared Storage now tells you why instead of silently doing nothing.
Note: this does not grant extra storage space. It only makes sure nothing can ever get trapped in a locked slot again. If you still cannot reach an item in your storage, open a ticket with your character name and we'll sort it out.
Client Stability — Fix
Fixed
The client no longer closes itself when a map's terrain data is missing. If a map's terrain file was absent or damaged on your machine — most often a patch that didn't finish downloading — the client would shut down without a word the moment you set foot on that map. It now stays up instead of crashing.
Good to Know
A map in that state will look wrong: no ground, and you can walk through things you shouldn't. That's the client telling you the map's files are incomplete, not a new bug.
If it happens, please tell us which map you were entering. The client now writes that down for us, so a report plus the map name is enough to fix it at the source.
Update Info
Please restart your client via the launcher to receive this update.
