"50-Player Arena Rooms & Spectator Overhaul"
Ether Online — Patch Notes
Ranked Arena — Rooms Now Hold Up to 50
Arena rooms were capped at 10 players. That cap is now 50.
Pick Your Size
The Participants dropdown in Create a room now runs 2–50. It still opens on 10, so nothing changes unless you want it to. The room master can resize an existing room with Modify — you just can't shrink it below the people already inside.
Teams Stay Fair
Sides are still auto-balanced, so a 50-player room is 25 vs 25. You can't stack a team: each side is capped at half the room, and a match won't start until both sides are even. Balanced stats still apply — everyone is revised to the top level in the match, exactly as before.
The Room Master Picks the Teams
Right-click anyone on the board → Move to Red team / Move to Blue team. Only the master sees it, and only before the countdown starts, so you can set an exact 15 v 15 instead of taking whatever the auto-split gives you.
Watch a Room Before It Starts
Watch in the lobby used to work only on matches already in progress. It now also opens a room that's still forming, read-only, so you can see the teams take shape before deciding to join. Private rooms stay private.
Reading the Waiting Room
The player board shows 10 at a time, with ◀ page ▶ arrows next to Exit and Modify. Right-click still works on any page — player info, hand over master, and kick. READY status and the START button read the whole room, not just the page you happen to be looking at.
The Result Screen Shows Everyone, Best First
Duel result used to list only 5 players per team, so most of a big match simply wasn't there. It now shows every player, 5 per side per page with ◀ page ▶ arrows, and each team is sorted by performance — kills first, then damage dealt, then fewest deaths. Whoever actually carried the match is at the top of page 1. A normal 5 v 5 looks exactly as it always has; the arrows only appear when there's more than one page.
Spawns
With big teams everyone used to pile onto a single tile at the start. Your side now spreads out across its spawn area — while staying inside it, so nobody gets dropped somewhere they can't walk out of.
Spectating — Watch the Whole Fight
Spectating got a pass across all three modes it exists in: Ranked Arena (and duels), Territorial War, and the Capture the Flag arena.
You Can See Everyone Now
Spectators only ever saw the fighters near where they landed — pan the camera across the map and the other team simply wasn't there. A watcher now sees every combatant wherever they are, so you can follow the whole match instead of half of it.
Smooth Camera
Free-fly panning (WASD / arrow keys) now eases in and glides to a stop instead of snapping on and off with the key. The speed stepper (◀ 1x ▶) on the spectator bar and TAB / Shift+TAB to cycle player views work exactly as before.
"Watch" Actually Opens
Pressing Watch could silently do nothing at all — most often after you'd watched a room that hadn't started yet. Fixed. And if a match genuinely can't be watched, it now tells you why instead of ignoring the click.
Mount Ride
Reconnecting no longer knocks you off your mount.
Re-mount is automatic — if you were riding when the connection dropped, you are put back on your pet as soon as it reappears.
No more repeated "You need a pet out to ride" — pressing the ride key during a reconnect used to queue up and answer with that message several times in a row, because your pet had not been sent back yet.
If your pet is genuinely gone when you return — unequipped, killed, or you changed map while away — you simply stay on foot.
New Rideable Pioh
More creatures can now be ridden. Equip one as your visible Pioh and press F7 to hop on.
Coward Hoppin
Cowering Peritle
Elite Red-Tongued Gnoll
Desert Koku
Mine Koku
If a mount or rider looks off — sitting too high, too low, or off-center — just report which Pioh and we'll fix it.
New Costumes
New sets of costumes are out now, available in the Cash Shop.
Cash Shop — Gifting
The Gift All button in the Cash Shop now works.
Gift All opens a window to enter the recipient and review everything in your cart before it is sent.
Gifts are delivered straight to the recipient's mailbox, with a receipt mail sent back to you.
The recipient's name is now checked before you are charged — a wrong name is refused with your gold, cash and cart untouched.
A gift to a character who is online now arrives right away, with no relogging needed.
Deleted characters can no longer be used as a recipient, for gifts or for normal player mail.
Diamond Supporter Aura
The Adamant Sovereign aura from the Diamond supporter package has been rebuilt.
Royal violet aura that wraps your character, with animated lightning crackling around you.
No longer shares an effect with Platinum — the two packages were previously the same aura, with Diamond just drawn brighter.
Argent Patron (Platinum) keeps its green ring, unchanged.
Supporter auras are still cosmetic only — no stats, no combat effect — and you can pick your aura or turn it off from the dropdown in Character Details.
Sentima & Baldr Specimen Quests — Coin Reward Fix
Changed
The Clocktower Plaza specimen quests (level 48) now reward a Silver coin instead of a Gold one. They were the only quests between level 27 and 49 handing out a gold coin — a data error, not a design choice. Both the Sentima and Baldr versions are affected.
Good to Know
The Clocktower Lobby quests (level 49) were already correct and have not changed. If you were expecting them to pay gold, silver is the tier they were always meant to be — the Plaza quest was the odd one out, not the Lobby.
Silver coins are the currency for the level 27–49 specimen quests, and buy the level 35–48 gear that range is built around. Gold coins belong to the level 51–60 quests and buy level 55–58 gear.
Any gold coins you've already earned are yours to keep. Nothing has been taken out of your inventory, storage or mail.
Gold, EXP, the collection targets, and the 5 repeats are all unchanged.
Stability & Fixes
Fixed a server crash that took the whole server down whenever a match started with more than 5 players on a side — the reason big arena matches weren't survivable before now.
Fixed kills, deaths and damage carrying over into your next match for anyone past the 5th player on a team.
Fixed arriving to an empty arena if you were still loading the map.
Fixed respawned players showing as a body standing where they died.
Login Fix
Fixed: "You are logged in with the same account. Please try again." appearing when you weren't actually logged in.
If your connection dropped in a way the server never saw — a power cut, internet drop, or force-closing the game — the server kept your old session reserved. Nothing ever cleared it, so every login attempt after that was refused.
The server now detects a dead session and clears it on its own. If you hit this, just log in again and you'll get straight in.
No client update needed — this is a server-side fix.
Please restart your client via the launcher to receive this update.
See you in Hestia!
