"Combat Effects Display Option"
Combat Effects — New Display Option
A few of you have asked for a way to tone down the visual noise in fights — bright skill effects, hit sparks and big AoE bursts filling the screen. There's now a setting for it.
Where: ESC → System Options → Graphic → Combat Effects
Options: 100% (default) · 50% · 20% · Off
What It Changes
Skill casts, skill impacts, hit sparks and area effects are drawn fainter — or not at all.
At
50%, other players' effects are halved while your own stay at full strength, so you can still read your own casts in a crowd. At
20%andOff, the per-hit sparks are switched off as well.
What It Never Hides
Auras, quest ! / ? markers, the quest guide arrow, Ether Gates, and PvP red/blue team markers are always drawn, at every setting. Turning effects down will never cost you information you need in a fight — or anything you've paid for.
Notes
Applies the moment you press OK or Apply. No restart needed.
The lower settings skip drawing those effects entirely rather than just fading them, so they can also help FPS in big fights and sieges.
Sits right under the existing Screen Shake toggle — worth pairing the two if you're sensitive to motion.
This is a client-side patch only — no server downtime. Just launch the game through the patcher as usual and it'll update itself. The default is unchanged, so if you don't touch it, nothing looks any different.
